Want to speed up your colourwork and stop those yarns twisting round and round? Two-handed colourwork is the answer. It’s even been known to improve colourwork tension.
Colourwork is so simple when worked in the round, as you’re always on the front of your work, so you can see your pattern forming. The two-handed colourwork method taught in this workshop will help you keep your yarns from twisting as they will never cross. The workshop will cover how to hold one yarn in each hand and knit in a combination of English-style ‘throwing’ and Continental-style ‘picking’, which will make your colourwork really flow. You won’t be able to put it down!
If you’re attending the workshop, you may wish to bring a pen and paper with which to take notes, as well as your knitting kit – you never know when you might need your usual essentials.
There will be water and squash available throughout the workshop. If you’d like a hot beverage, consider a stop at the coffee cart before the workshop starts.
• 4.5mm or 5mm needles (for your preferred tension with aran yarn) – either circular needles or DPNs for your preferred method of working in the round
• Stitch marker
Required skills: casting on, knit and purl.
Some experience of knitting in the round and/or colourwork would be helpful, although not essential.
