Skipton has an excellent train service with regular trains from Leeds, Bradford, Morecambe and Carlisle. There will be two double decker buses running from the station to Yarndale all day on both Saturday and Sunday. Or you can take a delightful 15 minute stroll through the yarn bombed park to Yarndale.
We are working closely with the local authorities to ensure the safety and security of all our visitors.
In light of recent incidents in Manchester and London, we have reviewed our security procedures and bag checks will be in operation at this event.
To help minimise queues, we advise our visitors to bring the least amount of belongings possible. Please do not bring large items of luggage since necessary security checks of large bags, rucksacks or suitcases may hinder your progress into the show.

On the approach to Skipton follow the black signs to the Auction Mart / yellow signs to Yarndale From M1 (travelling north) M1, M62 west, M606 to Bradford, A650 to Keighley, A629 to Skipton. Two big red Routemaster buses, Jean and Joy, will run to and from Yarndale from the railway station, via the High Street, from 9.30am each day and are free of charge.
Sadly these buses are not fully accessible however accessible taxis can be arranged from the station to the mart.
Your coach will be able to drop you off at Yarndale and pick you up at the same place – at a time arranged by you and your driver. There is no coach parking at the mart. We have designated coach parking approx 4 miles away (12 mins drive).
Coach parties must be booked in advance, details will be available in the new year.

About the town of Skipton
The market town of Skipton in North Yorkshire is a beautiful town to visit with its ancient buildings, cobbled streets and friendly atmosphere. You can stroll down the award winning high street bustling with many independent shops and cafes, browse around the thriving street market or take a stroll along the picturesque canal with it’s colourful narrow boats. And if you have time, you can venture a little further afield and enjoy the glorious scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park just a few miles away.
Yarndale Station shuttle bus!
Joy and Jean – our two red Yarndale buses will run from the railway station from 9.30am and will shuttle between the railway station and Yarndale for those who would like to arrive in style on a traditional London bus during show opening hours. Or why not stroll through the park to Yarndale and catch the bus back at the end of the day?
Park and Ride
We are really pleased to offer alternative parking if you are driving into Skipton for Yarndale. We will be operating a Park and Ride service with kind permission of Skipton Building Society. We are working with Red Bus Days and the Rotary Club of Skipton so that you can park for a small fee of £2.50 at Skipton Building Society, on the Bailey (A6131), just past the Castle at the top of the High Street. The car park is clearly signed on the Bailey.

Car parking at the Rotary Charity Car Park is £2.50 per day.
Red Bus Days will run mini buses from 9.30am and aim to depart every 20 minutes throughout the Yarndale weekend.
Please note: The Rotary Charity Car Park will open at 9am.
The nearest toilets are in the Town Hall car park off the High Street.
This is a charity car park, run by volunteers, with all monies being managed by the Rotary Club and used to help local good causes.
Once you have parked your car hop on the Red Bus Days minibus to continue to Yarndale.
The mini buses are accessible for wheelchairs.
The mini buses will drop off and collect at the bus stop outside the Wharfedale entrance to the show which has level access.
The mini buses will run from 9.30am on both days and shuttle back and forth over the weekend.
The gates close at 6pm so please ensure your car is removed in plenty of time.
The Mart car park will open at 9.30am.
To the rear of Skipton Auction Mart an area will be reserved for disabled parking – please ask the stewards to point out this area on arrival. Entrance to the Mart from this area is completely wheelchair accessible. Toilets with disabled access will be available at the front and the rear of the Mart. There will be no charge for a companion assisting a wheelchair user.

About The Mart
- There is a large cafe with a large seating area on one level.
- There is additional seating in tiers in the Workshop Theatre.
- The Mart is fully wheelchair accessible. On arrival please follow directions to the Wharfedale Entrance.
- Please note the ground is uneven in places including ridged concrete in areas.
- NO DOGS ALLOWED IN THE MART (not even really well behaved ones!) – assistance dogs are the only exception!
- All workshops will be held on ground level with level access from the rest of the show.
- Toilets, including accessible toilets, are situated at either end of the building.
- There will be designated accessible parking spaces on site.
- Children’s Area
- The Yarndale Shop will be open throughout the weekend so that you can make sure you can buy your Yarndale goodies to take home.
