11.30am – 12.15pm: Debora Bradley

Hello! My name is Debora Bradley, and I’m thrilled to be part of Yarndale this year, as always.

I’ve been knitting since I was a child but have only crocheted for five years or so, when I was frightened into finally managing to get beyond making a chain. Over the years I have collected a rather large stash of yarn, fabric, magazines and books, though recently I’ve spent most of my time failing to actually do any knitting or crochet while I defend my precious yarn (and everything else) from the ravages of our 7-month-old kittens.

I’ve worked on various craft magazines since 1999, with many teams and across many sectors, including needlecraft, papercraft, and sewing, as well as knitting and crochet. I’ve been involved with a lot of magazine launches, either as sole editor or in some editing capacity, including Simply Knitting, The Knitter, and Simply Sewing.

More recently I’ve worked in a publishing role, developing my knowledge and understanding of the commercial side of the business to complement my creative, editorial side, and currently I’m editing Love Patchwork & Quilting – a new and interesting challenge.
