Originally from Ireland Margaret Glackin is a Yorkshire based ceramic artist who studied studio ceramics in Leeds and Harrogate. She is an experienced designer maker who specialises in handmade ceramics, using hand thrown, slab-built and sculptural techniques. Her unique glazes are inspired by the natural colours of Yorkshire and the Antrim coast.
The utilitarian aspect of Margaret’s domestic ware is a means of engaging customers with practical items which are also pieces of art (e.g. Yarn Bowls, ceramic buttons, tableware) as well as challenging cheap imports and raising the profile of well-designed handmade ceramics.
