From Farm To Garment – a new future
with Wool Circle
Sunday: 11.00 – 12.00
Zoe and Sarah will explore how the current yarn supply chain is broken, and is unfair to farmers, producers and ultimately the land. Learn more about their journey into passionately promoting rare breed British wool, by creating a proper Yorkshire yarn. They will discuss their fully-traceable model which builds on the heritage and skills of the area to provide a new sustainable supply chain that is equitable and sustainable – and produces beautiful local yarn.
Dr Zoe Fletcher is a lecturer at MMU and renowned researcher in British Wool, with expertise in the supply chain. Ed and Laura Sutcliffe are farmers of rare breed sheep bringing regenerative practises to their farm in the Calder Valley. Dr Sarah Mackay is a sustainability consultant and natural dyer.
Together they are rebuilding a more sustainable supply chain.
