Mosaic Crochet with Claire Montgomerie
Saturday 25th September | 10.30 – 12.30 | Workshop Theatre 1
An introduction to the Mosaic Crochet technique, which is currently growing in popularity as you can achieve incredibly striking and complex looking colourwork patterns using only the very basic stitches. The technique can be used for everything from homewares and accessories to advanced garments and is a fabulous challenge for the intermediate crocheter, using enjoyable and simple techniques to push your skill level.
This class will cover the basics of following a chart to hook a simple two colour piece using the mosaic crochet technique and a DK yarn.
You must be able to at least work the basic crochet stitches, including the double and treble crochet to attend this class.
The final piece will be a square, that can be used as a coaster, but the teacher will provide tips and ideas for creating larger projects using the piece.
All the yarn and materials will be provided to finish the sample, plus more squares so that you can practice at home.
This will include:
- The mosaic crochet pattern and how to worksheets
- 2 x balls of DK yarn
- Appropriate size hook
- Yarn needle
- Inside Crochet magazine are also kindly providing each attendee with a goodie bag
