Please consider using public transport

On Sunday 29th September the UCI Road World Championships will be passing through Skipton. A great opportunity to come early and enjoy both events!

Please note there are rolling road closures in place that morning and we are working with the local authorities to ensure Yarndale runs smoothly.

Access to Skipton from the north via the B6265 and A59 / A65 / A6131 will be affected before 9.45am. Please plan your route carefully. For more information about the UCI World Championships event please click here or here.

Skipton has excellent public transport links with buses connecting to Skipton from across the north and regular trains from Leeds, Bradford, Morecambe and Carlisle.

Joy and Jean, our two red Yarndale buses will run from the railway station to Yarndale all day on Saturday from 9.30am until the end of the show.

Due to the road closures in place for the UCI World Championships on Sunday our usual Yarndale buses will run from 10am until the end of the show.

Mini buses will be in operation from 9.30am.

Or you can take a delightful 15 minute stroll from the railway station through the yarn bombed Aireville park to Yarndale.

Parking for cars on site is extremely limited.

There is limited parking for those with access needs.

Two big red buses, Jean and Joy, will run to and from Yarndale from the railway station, via the High Street where you can hop on at the bus stop outside the Library, from 9.30am on Saturday and 10am on Sunday. They will also stop at the bus stop on Gargrave Road, near the Coach Street car park.

These buses are free of charge. Donations can be made on the bus to this year’s charity MercyShipsUK. Please give generously.

Sadly these buses are not fully accessible however accessible taxis can be arranged from the station to the Mart.

Please note: Coach parties must be booked in advance – please see here for details of the great benefits of travelling to Yarndale by coach.

Please contact [email protected] for details.

Ever considered organising your own trip?

For parties of 10 or more travelling by coach or minibus we offer the facility to book tickets beforehand without paying a booking fee.

Once final numbers have been established I will forward an invoice, once paid I will send the wristbands for the particular day.

The main benefit, besides no booking fee, is that guests in your party can be given the wristbands before arrival and gain immediate entry at the designated entrance.

Coaches or minibuses can then park up on site free of charge and passengers can make their way back to the coach at the end of the day or at any time during the day.

Should any of your party prefer a trip to Skipton town centre during the day we offer free return transport every half hour on a double decker bus.

The cost of a pre-booked ticket using this method is £ 12. Tickets on the door will be £15 and only available after 11am if the venue is not already sold out.

These wristbands can only be booked directly with myself and will be available by the end of March.

Contact Paul at [email protected] for more details.
