Yarndale Make Along With…

We have some exciting news!

We are aware that the pandemic has fuelled an interest in starting to knit and crochet, but we also know that people may be uncertain about where to start, what they may need or how to get going with the process.

So, we are delighted to be launching our own series of videos where Emma and other members of the Yarndale team will share their creative makes, step-by-step, to help you make yours.

In the first two videos, Emma follows her own patterns to create a simple, yet incredibly versatile, cotton cloth (crochet & knit). You can join along the process together with Emma in real time to create your own cotton cloth, or simply watch to unwind.

And to support the videos, we are also offering specific Yarndale Make Along With… Kits.

The Yarndale Make Along With Emma Crochet Kit contains everything a crochet beginner needs to get started and be able to crochet Emma’s cotton cloth. And the Yarndale Make Along With Emma Knitting Kit contains everything to knit the cloth.

Our Worldwide Creative Project

One of the most exciting parts of Yarndale is the creative challenges we set and the enthusiastic response from everyone who joins in, and we certainly weren’t disappointed when we set the challenge for 2020.

We asked you to make colourful dishcloths to help raise money for Martin House Hospice Care, our chosen charity for 2020, and we’re overjoyed that you have sent us a grand total of 1,386!

Thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic, the hospice had been forced to cancel its fundraising events and has seen its income plummet as the country went into lockdown.

By making your dishcloths, we can help raise money for this fantastic cause and make a real difference to families supported by the charity.

All the dishcloths we’ve received from you will be sold at Yarndale 2021. So, there’s still a lot more time to keep making them!

Please keep sending in your Dishcloths.

Craft Club – You’re all Invited!

Crafting, knitting, sewing and making….the beauty of these is that you can do them solo and without leaving the house. But sometimes, a bit of social crafting is just what we need!

Yarndale and Great Place: Lakes and Dales have joined forces to organise a making club where we can get together on Zoom each month to chat while we make (and meet in person once lockdown restrictions have eased).

Bring a glass of wine, a cup of tea or a slice of cake and let’s share the joy of making, together.

We will post details of the next Craft Club shortly.
