Crewel Work Sheep

In this workshop you will create your own Crewel Work embroidered sheep. Crewel work is hand embroidery with wool. You’ll learn how to transfer a design of a sheep on to fabric, using one provided or your own design. We’ll then explore the traditional Crewel work embroidery stitches using them to hand embroider your sheep design, complete with simple background.

Participants will receive a kit containing a selection of fabrics and crewel wool which they can take home. Additional crewel wools and fabrics will be available for them to choose from too.

Louise Goult is a textile artist and tutor who enjoys sharing her skills with others. Her workshops are designed to enable each person to create their own unique piece of textile art. Louise has taught for many organisations, delivered workshops for groups and museums as well as programming her own series of workshops.
